High achiever, super connector, problem solver, business accelerator, during his 20 years of professional experience, Jean-Baptiste (JB) has represented the interests of multiple businesses and organizations from around the world.

JB is fluent in English, French and Mandarin and graduated from HKUST in 2012 with an MBA. He possesses exceptional communication skills and broad multi-cultural exposure. JB attended programs on negotiation at Harvard and attended the Foundation of Directorship program from AICD (the Australian Institute of Company Directors).

During his career, JB has represented the interests of multiple parties including government agencies, investors, vendors, buyers, and has always strived to attain the best possible outcome in any given situation.

Early on, JB has been a Sourcing Manager for GIFI is a leading low-cost retailer in France. The team of 15 he put in place managed USD 50M of purchase, he was then promoted buyer. He then became Sales Director for MCS industries, a leading US Home Decor company. He created and managed a business relationship with 3 Top 20 Global retailers. He developped USD 1.5M of sales with Walmart China, while servicing a portfolio of existing clients & Sales Representatives.

JB has also been instrumental in the delivery of results on a wide range of Business Development projects. Among others:

◦ Project management: on behalf of a Global E-Commerce Expert that invests time and money to develop and manage websites to generate B2C sales in 100+ countries, he developped partnerships with some of the world most iconic brands.

◦ Identified & qualified a distributor in China on behalf of a French manufacturer of wood floor. Negotiated the terms of a contract worth 1.2M Euros. Mission led in 2017.

◦ Identified & qualified a franchise partner in China on behalf of a leading French Electric Vehicle charging station company (listed company). Assisted the President of the company until the signature of a MOU. Mission led in 2021.

◦ Project management: in 2018, on behalf of a Chinese wooden toys manufacturer, managed a comprehensive business development solution encompassing: People, Product, Price, Place, Promotion. Created a brand, logo, story. Performed a market study in France, England and Germany, defined items, price points and catalogue. Set up a Joint-Venture and built a network of distributors. Attended trade shows.

◦ Sourcing: between 2018 and 2022, on behalf of a leading European TV-Home shopping company sourced vendors & identified Best Seller items. Negotiated price, exclusivity and brought many new products on the market.

◦ Crisis management: in 2018, following a domestic accident and product recall for 1.8 M. Euros worth of inventory, he led a mission on behalf of a French buyer: worked with suppliers, lawyers, and was ultimately able to resell the inventory to a third-party.
